How are relationships affecting EVERYTHING in your life?
“am just getting that now isn’t the time for me to be in a relationship..I am my focus for awhile….” some one told me, explaining why she was choosing not to participate in a call on relationships (6 Dos and 6 Don’ts to Create a Relationship That’s Easy and Fun).
That’s absolutely fine with me–I have found that the less I have ANY point of view about who or how many show up for any class, the better the class is.
And it’s a great opportunity to suggest that change and creating what we’d like in life is much less linear than we suspected.
Here’s a great example. There’s a distant member of my family that’s irritated me for years. I had so many points of view about him that I KNEW were correct (there’s a hint that they’re judgments, not observations). I was so sure I was right!
In the meantime, I lived my life, did the work on myself that I do, life as usual. Then I happened to see this person and I discovered something so amazing. Once I was in his presence, I searched my whole universe and couldn’t find a single point of view about anything he thought or did. It was an amazing experience–WAAAAAY better than drugs. It was like I was a single atom in the entire universe, and all around me was just space and total freedom. Such a feeling of transcendence. Wow!
So I highly recommend approaching everyone you know with “Interesting point of view they have that point of view,” and even better, “Interesting point of view I have that point of view.”
Even more, I invite you to consider that change in your life could happen less linearly and more randomly than you might suspect. Face it, if you could logically figure out what’s bugging you in relationships or anything else, wouldn’t you have solved all the problems in that area long ago?
So then what do you do? Go for consciousness! Be as clear as you can about everything you possibly can, and know that , no matter how painful it might look at first, it will create your life getting better and better.
What if your stuck points on relationships were keeping you from having all the money you’d like?
What if your stuck points on relationships were affecting your body?
What if your stuck points on relationships were keeping you from moving forward in your life as you would like to?
See what I mean?
So where do you go from here? You could consider getting clear on relationships, even if you’re not planning to have one right away–or ever. I don’t have the point of view that you should have one, by the way–only that you should have one that works for you, whatever that may look like. If you choose what would work for you, rather than what society your parents the movies and the magazines SAY you SHOULD have, you’ll have a much better chance of having what you’d like in your life.
What would that be like?
